Festivals in Manawatu & Whanganui New Zealand

Manawatu Festival
Manawatu Country and Western Festival

The Manawatu-Wanganui is a region covering a large part of the central to lower North Island, stretching from Mt Ruapehu all the way down to down to Horowhenua. It is home to a wide variety of landscapes from coastal floodplains, mountain ranges and a couple of major rivers. The two main population centers are the city of Palmerston North and the city of Whanganui.  This region is dedicated to farming, so the majority of the population is spread throughout a series of small rural towns, so its no surprise that the Wanganui Festivals have a very rural feel.  Festivals like the ‘Taihape Gumboot Day’ or the ‘Pulse Urban Festival’, not to mention the various Country Music Festivals are on offer. These are all fun events and the good folk of the Manawatu-Wanganui know how to turn on the good old Kiwi Hospitality – something we New Zealander’s are famous for. Here is a list of Wanganui Festivals that you may be interested in visiting.
