Strap yourselves in for the ride of a lifetime! Imagine the world’s greatest physical features and adventure challenges all in one place, here on New Zealand’s South Island. You’ll be blown away by the formidable, snow capped mountain peaks and ranges, huge glacial lakes, imposing fiords, dense native rain forests, wonderfully wild isolation and to top it all off, we’ll strap you in a jetboat for a ride through a narrow river gorge, or tie you to a bungy chord and throw you off something! The locals are tame and very friendly, the countryside unique and at times almost frontier like, though best of all, it screams ‘come and play’.

With crisp clear days and fantastic displays of autumn (fall) colours late April is a perfect time for a South Island holiday. I like my holidays to be a combination of activity and good food so with that in mind my road trip started in Queenstown

Zara Family Holiday

We had booked the trip with our children, 8 & 10 years old and were travelling with another family of five, with children aged 7, 10 & 12. Once on board, with cabins found; there are 2 double cabins and 2 rooms which are shared with 3 bunks in each with 1 main shared bathroom – (if its ensuite travel you are used to – leave those comfort expectations back on dry land – as the scenery and experience more than makes up for the close quarters).
