Your adventure begins aboard a Cougar Line catamaran for a scenic eco-tour through Queen Charlotte Sound. Learn about the region’s marine life and bird species, including the rare South Island Saddleback and Robin, at Motuara Island, a predator-free sanctuary.
From there, you’ll cross the Sound to historic Ship Cove/Meretoto, a favorite resupply stop for Captain James Cook. Starting the Queen Charlotte Track, walk through lush native bush accompanied by the melodious birdsong. Climb to the ridge for breathtaking views before descending into Endeavour Inlet, where Furneaux Lodge awaits. Day 2: Furneaux Lodge to Punga Cove Resort

After a morning water taxi ride to Torea Bay, cross the hill to the Portage Hotel foreshore in the Kenepuru Sound. Meet your kayaking guide for a safety briefing and orientation, then embark on a gentle paddle through the peaceful waters of the Kenepuru Sound.
